I came to The Elephant Man just a few years ago so my immediate response was tears. Lots and lots of tears. It's an amazing movie but absolutely one that needs moderation for younger viewers to fully understand the themes - in that way it's a great tool for empathy and care. I hope writing this helped your young self, great piece, I really enjoyed it :)
