That’s a very fair feeling, Judy Garland was mistreated her whole life and it was shocking. What should be noted though is that the mistreatment started before this film and she would often remember the filming of The Wizard of Oz very fondly and spoke lovingly of it. I think the idea of finding support and peace spoke deeply to her even at that age and when I watch it that is what I think about, but it is fair to look at it and her other films with a certain sadness.
