The Myths of “The Wizard of Oz”
Behind the scenes “facts” that just aren’t true

Maybe you’ve seen them. You’re scrolling along, minding your own business, when something catches your eye. It may have a title like “Horrifying Facts About The Wizard of Oz,” usually accompanied by an image made to look scary (and likely coloured red). Depending on who you are you may scroll on or you may click in and look in shock as the awful details of the making of one of the best loved fantasy films reveal themselves.
Or, if you’re like me, you know they’re mainly a bunch of nonsense. For more in-depth looks at the making of the film and excellent debunking, I recommend checking out Tori of The Oz Vlog on TikTok and YouTube – a super fan of all things Oz, her enthusiasm and knowledge are breaths…
